Typical, you're on the bike, night falls and do not bring lights, which is double jeopardy because you can not see the pavement-and thereby, potholes- and drivers can not see thee. What do you think was the artistic solution we came Nuenen, Netherlands to support cyclists who cross the dark of night?

Roosegaarde Studio designed a bright ciclovía inspired painting “Starry Night” Vincent Van Gogh, who lived in Nuenen of 1883 a 1885. This study is also the project manager “Smart Highway”, consisting of a road whose lines and other figures glow in the dark in the same way they did pegábamos the stars on the ceiling of our room when we were kids.

Now, Roosegaarde members created a path a mile long with special paint that load up with sun ray, a method is considered more gentle to the eye than other lighting infrastructure and also, creates a cultural and historical ties to the place. LEDs placed at certain points of the curves of the road have extra light that illuminated display even on cloudy days.

We would like this kind of initiative in our country, but in the meantime, Nest offer bonuses to those who ride bikes, as access to toilets and water and 10% discount on the monthly membership in our coworking. ¡The run!

“It’s a new total system that is self-sufficient and practical, and just incredibly poetic.” Roosegaarde.
